Campbell teen’s head grazed by bullet while 2 girls fought
STAFF REPORT
CAMPBELL — Police are investigating a shooting in the city that slightly wounded a teenager.
Police said they were called to a large fight with multiple gunshots at 84 13th St. at 6:49 p.m. Sunday.
A neighbor there told them a fight between two girls attracted a large crowd. Shots were fired from a yard on Gordon Avenue, they told police, and the suspects fled up Gordon.
Police said they found 11 shell casings from a .40-caliber Winchester in the driveway at a Gordon Avenue address.
While they were there, the teenager walked down the street and said he’d been shot in the head.
Police called an ambulance, and the ambulance crew found he’d been grazed by a bullet, the report said.
The boy told police he believes he knows who shot him, but police did not arrest a suspect.
The boy did not come to give a written statement, the report says, and the case has been turned over to the city prosecutor and a detective for review.
