Ohio health department orders more doses of H1N1 flu vaccine
COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Health has ordered another 434,800 doses of H1N1 flu vaccine from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which will be shipped directly to Ohio public health departments and hospitals. It is expected to begin arriving Tuesday.
The order includes 67,800 doses of nasal-spray vaccine and 367,000 shots of vaccine, according the Ohio Emergency Operations Center.
The vaccine is for high-risk individuals, including health care and emergency medical service workers who provide direct patient care; pregnant women; people who live with or care for children less than six months; all people six months to 24 years, and people 25 to 64 with chronic medical conditions.
