City man charged in murder of teen
A South Side man could face life in prison.
YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury indicted 22 people last week, including a man accused of killing a teen and leaving the boy’s body in an East Side field.
Paul Brown, 31, of Falls Avenue, has been charged with murder, illegal possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. If convicted of the felony charges, he would face life in prison.
Brown is charged with the murder of Asthen Jackson, 17, of Parkwood Avenue. Jackson was reported missing by his mother, April Jackson, on May 25. Family and friends found the teen’s body behind a building at Jacobs Road and Kenyon Avenue in late May.
Jackson was last seen in the company of his mother’s ex-boyfriend and another person of interest, according to a police report.
April Jackson received a telephone call after her son’s disappearance reportedly informing her she’d find her son’s body on the city’s East Side.
April Jackson searched the city’s East Side with friends and family, and they found her son’s body.
