SALEM — The public is invited to attend the Salem Historical Society meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the museum, 208 S. Broadway Ave., where a program will be presented in honor of veterans. Invitations have been extended to area veterans, especially those who participated in World War II.

The speaker will be Judge Carol Robb, Columbiana County municipal court judge, who will present a Powerpoint program on “From Grateful Nations.”

Her pictorial presentation will cover her tour from Munich, Germany, through Belgium, along the Normandy beaches and to Paris. Featured will be two veterans of World War II who landed on Omaha Beach and fought through the Battle of the Bulge.

The gratitude shown to the veterans by citizens of Germany, Belgium and France serves as a reminder that they not only defend our freedoms but serve as liberators and freedom fighters for other nations.

Those attending the event are asked to use the East Alley entrance. Nancy Fediaczko will be the greeter, and Kevin Shaffer will provide refreshments.
