BASEL, Switzerland — Three-time defending champion Roger Federer cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win against qualifier Evgeny Korolev, while Novak Djokovic pulled out a 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory over Stanislas Wawrinka. Federer will play wild card Marco Chiudinelli, who beat Richard Gasquet 6-1, 6-3 to reach the first ATP Tour semifinal. Djokovic will meet fifth-seeded Radek Stepanek, who beat Marin Cilic 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. The second-seeded Djokovic had to work hard against the sixth-seeded Swiss a day after breezing past Jan Hernych 6-0, 6-0 — his first double bagel in an elite tournament. Djokovic reached the semifinals for the 14th time in 20 tournaments this year, and extended his tour-leading win total to 69.

VALENCIA, Spain — Top-seeded Andrew Murray carried his comeback into semifinals by cruising past Albert Montanes 6-4, 6-2. Second-seeded Nikolay Davydenko will play Mikhail Youzhny in the other semifinal. The fourth-seeded Verdasco eliminated seventh-seeded Tommy Robredo 6-3, 6-2. Davydenko beat Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-4, 7-6 (3), but fifth-seeded Gilles Simon fell to Youzhny 6-4, 6-4.

NUSA DUA, Indonesia — Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez upset second-seeded Samantha Stosur 7-6 (4), 7-5 to reach the semifinals. Martinez Sanchez will face Aravane Rezai. Top-seeded Marion Bartoli defeated Shahar Peer, 6-3, 6-2, and will play Kimiko Date Krumm of Japan, who advanced when Yanina Wickmayer withdrew because of a one-year doping suspension. Sabine Lisicki defeated Melinda Czink 6-2, 6-7 (1), 6-4, and Vera Dushevina edged Anabel Medina Garrigues 2-6, 6-1, 7-5.
