YOUNGSTOWN — Brothers Eric and James McClellan and sister Janeen Williams will perform at the Ford Family Recital Hall at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available at the DeYor Performing Arts Centre box office at (330) 744-0264 or online at youngstownsymphony.com.
The program will feature the Youngstown trio in such memorable Broadway show tunes as “Together Wherever We Go” from “Gypsy,” “Electricity” from “Billy Elliot,” “Happiness” from “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” and “Moon River” from the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
Accompanied by pianist Anthony Ruggiero, the McClellan family in solo, duet and trio also will present sacred songs such as “Here I Am, Lord” and “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.”
Eric McClellan recently appeared in Easy Street Productions’ “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Music Man” and “Annie.”
James McClellan has spent his entire life singing, including roles in “Oliver!” as a child, “Little Shop of Horrors” as a teenager, “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” throughout his 20s and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” in his early 30s. James McClellan most recently performed the role of Mozart in “Amadeus Live” with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and conductor Randall Craig Fleischer.
Janeen, the middle McClellan sibling who sings solo, readily acknowledges that she prefers to sing in harmony with her brothers and her son and daughter. Janeen can be heard on several local commercials and is currently the adult choir director at Canton’s Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where her husband, the Rev. Mark Williams, is pastor.
