ATHLETIC GROUPS

• Girard Golden Eagles will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Girard Free Library.

• McDonald Midget Football Association will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

• McDonald Sideliners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.

AUXILIARIES

• Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW, Post 3538, will have a monthly meeting at 6:30 Monday at the post home, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers. District 8 President Nancy Horner will attend for the yearly inspection. A luncheon will be served. Reminder: Dues of $15 are due and should be paid before December.

• St. Elizabeth Health Center Auxiliary will meet at noon Monday at the private dining room. Sister Bitty Schuster will speak on “Beatitude House.”

CLASSES

• Chaney High School January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Molly’s on Salt Springs Road. All alumni are invited to attend.

CLUBS

• College Club of Sharon will have a continental breakfast meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian church, Sharon. Jocelyn Beatty, wildlife artist, will speak. Committee chairwomen for the 2009-10 year are Ruth Leone (awards), Lizette Olsen (salon), Barbara Clawson (finance), Sally Young and Wanda Marks (hospitality), Paula Haehnel (yearbook/program), Laura Kubyako (reception), Nancy Gearhart (historian), Antoinette DeAngelis (publicity), and Lois Tamplin (remembrance). Hospitality will be provided by Pat Stanger, Ruth Leone, Karen Davis, and Kathleen Dunkerley. Membership is open to women college graduates. GUILDS

• Western Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield for the annual holiday dinner. Members should take a covered dish to share and their own place setting, as well as a small knitted ornament, to take part in an exchange. There will be no meeting in December.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

• Friends of Boardman Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the community room for a social with Doris Almasy, Jane Clarke, Martha Standley and Dorothy Velker as hostesses. The 10 a.m. program on “‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen” will be presented by Carol Weakland. New members and guests are welcome. Reservations will be taken for the Christmas luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 14 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. Entertainment will be by Dan Kalosky. The cost is $18, and the reservation deadline is Dec. 1. Members should indicate their choice of chicken fran ßaise, baked orange roughy or a 6-ounce sirloin steak with onion rings. RELIGIOUS GROUPS

• Mount Carmel Society of St. Rose Church in Girard will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the lower church.

• St. Anthony Auxiliary of Struthers elected officers at its October meeting. There will be no general membership meeting this month, but officers will meet at noon Monday at Johnny’s restaurant in Boardman.

• St. Michael Altar Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the parish center. The rosary will precede the meeting. Lynda Fuller, president, will preside. Pat See and Joanne Brown will present the program “Merry Christmas Billboards.” The hostesses for the meeting are Diana Vaccaro and Cookie Dwyer. Guests are welcome.

• St. Monica Guild of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday with President Mary Ann Cardiero presiding. Plans for the Christmas party will be discussed. Hostesses are Nancy Green, Carmela Grey, Cynthia Jones, Tina Kinnick, and Mary LaVaglio.

• Youngstown Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at St. Christine Church hall, 3165 Schenley Ave. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided by the Hospitality Ministry of St. Christine’s. • Mahoning County Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Church, state Route 224, Boardman. “How to Get Started” is the theme of the informational meeting on tracing family histories. Researchers will be on hand to answer questions. Anyone interested in the theme is welcome. Refreshments will be served.
