Winter injury health fair, critical-care symposium Friday at Avalon Inn

HOWLAND — More than 200 health-care professionals will attend “The Cold Truth,” the seventh annual trauma and critical-care symposium sponsored by Forum Trumbull Memorial Hospital from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Avalon Inn, 9519 E. Market St.

This year’s symposium, a continuing medical educational symposium, focuses on topics that address most frequently seen winter and cold weather injuries and medical conditions and subsequent treatment.

A winter injury and health fair, in conjunction with the symposium, will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event is open to the general public and will provide information about winter safety and health. Exhibitors from the community include the American Red Cross, Ice Zone, Gander Mountain, Wildlife Safety, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Johnny K’s and Ski Chalet.
