Supreme Court suspends Pritchard’s law license
COLUMBUS — The Ohio Supreme Court has suspended the law license of attorney Warren “Bo” Pritchard after the Austintown Township man failed to complete his biennial registration.
The suspension took effect Tuesday, though he and 232 other attorneys who were suspended can seek reinstatement by paying $700 in fees.
Attorneys are supposed to register with the state every two years, with the deadline for doing so in early September. Those who failed to do so had until Monday to pay a late fee and bring their registrations up to date.
The registration fees are used to administer the state bar, including supporting the state supreme court’s disciplinary and grievance system.
More than 42,000 attorneys registered as of the filing deadlines. Suspended attorneys are not allowed to practice law.
Other area attorneys who were suspended this week included Brad A. Catlin of Mahoning County, and William P. McGuire and Joseph D. Ohlin, both of Trumbull County.
Last week, the Mahoning County Bar Association filed paperwork with the Ohio Supreme Court seeking the suspension of Pritchard’s law license alleging multiple incidents of misconduct, ranging from clients who paid hundreds of dollars up front for services they never received to others in which Pritchard failed to show up for court appearances or make timely case filings.
Pritchard, an Austintown Township trustee, did not win re-election Tuesday, garnering the fewest number of votes among four candidates, according to unofficial results posted by the Mahoning County Board of Elections.
