WEDNESDAY
• Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and Nov. 11 at the church. The menu will include salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. THURSDAY
• Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.
• Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through dinner of stuffed chicken breast, green beans and mashed potatoes from 4 p.m. until sold out. No reservations required. The cost is $7. The meals will be available the first Thursday of each month.
FRIDAY
• Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 :30 to 11 a.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.
• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.
• Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed early from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Advance sales only. Lunches will be served from 11:30 a.m. till 1 p.m.
• St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order, call (330) 799-0084 after 6 p.m. Thursday or after 8 a.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.
• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m.
• Potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Cost is $4.50 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.
• St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will bake Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at (330) 788-0025 between 9-11:30 a.m. only. Pickup will be until 12:30 p.m. Price is $6 for regular or Brier Hill pizza, and $5 for white pizza.
• St. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
• St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance.
• Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, Warren, will sell all-you-can-eat fish dinners from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Meals include deep-fried ocean perch, home-fried potatoes, coleslaw, bread, homemade desserts and beverage. The cost is $9 for adults and $3 for children. Meat loaf is also available. The Christmas gift room will be open.
• Trinity United Methodist Church, 30 W. Front St., will sell takeout homemade chili from 4 to 6 p.m. Quart containers are $5 or 2 for $9. Pints are $3. • Berlin Ellsworth Ruritan will serve Swiss steak suppers from 4 to 7 p.m. at Western Reserve High School, 15823 Akron-Canfield Road, Berlin Center. Carryouts will be available.
• Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Boardman, is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include Italian bread, salad, dessert and beverage. Dinners are $6 for adults, $3 for children 4 to 12, and free for those 3 and under. Takeouts available.
• Christ Church Presbyterian, 1933 Canfield Road, will serve sauerkraut dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $7. Carryouts available.
• First Christian Church of Girard, 140 E. Broadway, will be serving pasta dinners from 4-6:30 p.m. The prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Meals include meatballs, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage. Carryouts will be available. From 4:30 to 6:30, the Swingtime will entertain with big band music.
• First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa. will have a chicken pie supper from 4 to 7 p.m. and a bazaar from 2 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.
• Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., will serve beef tips and noodles dinners from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Meals are $8 for adults, $3.50 for children 7 to 12, and free for those under 7. Takeouts will be available. There will be seating on the first floor.
• Pricetown United Methodist Church will have an all-you-can-eat turkey buffet dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newton Falls High School, 907 Milton Blvd., S. Meals are $9 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12, and free for those 4 and under.
• Robbins United Methodist Church, 100 High St., Washingtonville, will sell homemade potato, chicken noodle, vegetable, and wedding soups for $6.50 a quart from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also available will be homemade bread and baked goods.
• St. Matthias Church. 915 Cornell Ave., will serve Swiss steak dinners at the Father Snock Center from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Meals include potatoes, vegetable, salad, bread, coffee or tea and cake. The cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children. Pop is 75 cents. Containers will be provided for takeouts.
• Salem Saxon Club will host a German/Saxon sausage sale from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 1980 Newgarden Road. Beverages, pastries and sausage sandwiches will be available.
• Shrine of Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., will be the location for a dinner fundraiser to benefit Youngstown Community Food Center Inc. and Gleaners Food Bank from noon to 6 p.m. The donation will be $7. On the menu are fish dinners, chicken dinners, potato salad or coleslaw, baked beans, and string beans. Eat in or carry the dinners out. There also will be a Chinese auction. • Mended Hearts Support Group will have a holiday nut sale today through Dec. 21 at St. Elizabeth Health Center and in front of the cafeteria at the Jewish Community Center.
