Weekend full of activities to welcome holiday season


EAST PALESTINE — A variety of activities throughout the community will help area residents kick off the holiday season Nov. 13-15.

The East Palestine Town and Country Garden Club will have its annual Christmas Home Tour, “An Old Fashioned Country Christmas,” from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 13 and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 14.

Five homes will be decorated. George’s Hair Styling Salon will be included with the homes. Tickets, which cost $10, may be purchased at DND’s Restaurant, Flowers Straight from the Heart, The Sunflower Seed, Endia’s Photography and George’s Styling Salon.

Ozer Ministries will host the annual nativity display at First United Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St. More than 200 nativities and nativity ornaments will be on display from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 13 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 14. A live nativity will be featured from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 13.

Other highlights of the weekend include a salute to the armed forces, a Christmas bazaar, themed gift baskets and raffles. All proceeds and donations will benefit the Tobin Center Chaplaincy Ministry. For more information call (330) 426-2147.

A lunch will be served by Unity Grange from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 13 and 14. Crafts by Joanne McDevitt will be available at the Grange.

A three-day craft show will be sponsored by the East Palestine Chamber of Commerce at Heid Hall, from 4-8 p.m. Nov. 13; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 14, and noon to 4 Nov. 15. Call (330) 426-2552 for more information.

Friends of the Library will serve punch and cookies in the Community Room of the East Palestine Memorial Public Library, 309 N. Market St., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 13 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 14.
