Springfield baseball wins, advances to state

LORAIN — Todd Kibby tossed a five-hitter to lead the Springfield High baseball team to a 3-2 victory over Lake Center in the Division IV regional title game at the Pipe Yard.

The Tigers advance to the state semifinals in Columbus where they will play Newark Catholic on Friday at 10 a.m. It’s Springfield’s first state baseball appearance since 1994.
