“2009 MTV Movie Awards” (9 p.m., MTV): Goofball Andy Samberg lands his first big hosting gig as our guide for this 18th annual bash, which tends to be oh-so-edgy and unpredictable. Hogging most of the nominations this year are “Twilight” and “Slumdog Millionaire.” But beyond the prizes, we can look forward to performances by, among others, Eminem and Kings of Leon, as well as sneak peeks of the new “Transformers,” “Harry Potter” and “Twilight” flicks. And let’s hope Samberg shares a few of his hilarious viral videos with us.

“Ice Road Truckers” (9 p.m., History Channel): We don’t know what will freak us out more in the new season of “Ice Road Truckers” — the perilous cliffs or the 70-below-zero temperatures. We’ll just stay glued to the couch with our hot cocoa.

“Breaking Bad” (10 p.m., AMC): They’ve promised a “shocking” conclusion to the second season of “Breaking Bad,” but we’re not sure how much more shock we can take from this addictive show.
