Forum reaches tentative deal with 2nd union

Forum Health has reached a tentative contract agreement with a second union.

Forum said Friday that a deal was reached with Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union.

The agreement covers 350 technical, professional and business office workers at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

The agreement must be ratified by union members, but a vote has not been set.

Forum said it is continuing to negotiate with 650 other workers who also are part of the SEIU but have a different contract.

Forum said contract details were not being released, and a union spokesman could not be reached.

Forum, which has filed for bankruptcy protection, is asking its workers for concessions.

Also reaching a tentative agreement was the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, which represents 1,285 workers at Trumbull Memorial and Hillside Rehabilitation hospitals. Forum also has workers at Northside Medical Center.
