New Castle police probe slaying

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Police were investigating a homicide reported about 9:20 p.m. Thursday at a Marathon gas station and a separate shooting elsewhere in the city.

Authorities were providing few details late Thursday but said the shooting death occurred at the gas station at Highland Avenue and Wallace Street.

More information will be released later, a 911 dispatcher said.

A second shooting also was reported, but police were trying to determine where it occurred, the dispatcher said. The victim drove himself to the hospital.
