Santa to visit Austintown Relay for Life

AUSTINTOWN — Santa Claus is coming to town to help celebrate the fight against cancer.

Santa will make a guest appearance at Austintown Fitch High School’s Relay for Life Friday. Santa will be escorted to the event by the Austintown Fire Department, instead of his sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

The 24-hour event begins at 6 p.m. June 5 at the high school track.

In addition to Santa, other events scheduled include a “Not So Fashionable Fashion Show” with guest models U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, and state Senator Joe Schiavoni. The fashion show will be at noon June 6. There will also be a community breakfast Saturday from 7-10 a.m. Donations are $6 for adult and $4 for children ages 2-5.
