Where: Lee Jackson Field, University of Akron.

Directions: Take I-76 west to Akron. Take state Route 8 north to Buchtel Avenue exit. Turn left on Buchtel and proceed three blocks.

Scouting report: The Spartans and Polar Bears of the Federal League played once in the regular season, with Jackson winning, 1-0. The Polar Bears are unbeaten in FL games.

DIVISION II

POLAND (25-3) vs. MOGADORE FIELD (25-5)

When: Thursday at 5 p.m.

Where: Akron Firestone Stadium.

Directions: Take I-76 west to Akron, follow I-77 south to Wilbeth Road. Turn right onto Wilbeth and proceed about a mile and a half. Watch for stadium complex on right just past Main Street.

Scouting report: The Bulldogs went unbeaten in All-American Conference Red Tier play and are returning to the regional after a one-year absence. Last year, they lost, 3-2, to Canfield in the district final. Canfield went on to win the state title.

DIVISION III

URSULINE (24-5) vs. WELLINGTON (21-6)

When: Thursday at 5 p.m.

Where: Genshaft Park, Massillon.

Directions: Take state Route 62 to Canton, then follow I-77 south. Take state Route 30 west and proceed about five miles. Take state Route 21 north and take first exit. Genshaft is off to the right.

Scouting report: The Irish are making their fourth straight regional appearance. Last year’s team lost to Akron Manchester in the semifinals. Lower is 23-5 and a three-year starting pitcher. Wellington is 21-6 and placed second at last year’s state tournament. The Dukes have four starters back: P/3B and Akron recruit Cassie Gleisner, SS Brooke Lewis, C Melissa Rennie and SS Callie McConnell.

DIVISION IV

WARREN JFK vs. WINDHAM

When: Thursday at 5 p.m.

Where: Kent State University Dix Stadium.

Directions: Take I-76 west to state Route 43. Take 43 north three miles to state Route 261. Turn right onto to 261 and proceed two miles to Graham Road. Turn right onto Graham Road and watch for stadium on left.
