TV: Golf Channel (Thursday, 3-6 p.m., 8:30-11:30 p.m.; Friday, 12:30-3:30 a.m., 3-6 p.m., 8:30-11:30 p.m.; Saturday, 2-5 a.m.) and CBS (Saturday-Sunday, 3-6 p.m.). Last year: Phil Mickelson made a 9-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a one-stroke victory over Tim Clark and Rod Pampling. Mickelson also won the 2000 event. Last week: South Africa’s Rory Sabbatini won the Byron Nelson Championship in Irving for his fifth PGA Tour title, closing with a 6-under 64 to hold off Brian Davis by two strokes. Sabbatini had a tournament-record 19-under 261 total.

TV: Golf Channel (Friday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; Saturday, midnight-2 a.m., 6:30-9:30 p.m.; Sunday, midnight-2:30 a.m., 7-9:30 p.m.; Monday, midnight-2:30 a.m.). Last year: Jay Haas successfully defended his title, beating Andy Bean by a stroke. Haas won the Senior PGA Championship at Oak Hill the previous week. Last week: Michael Allen won the Senior PGA Championship in his Champions Tour debut, beating Larry Mize by two strokes at Canterbury in Beachwood, Ohio. Winless in two decades on the PGA Tour, Allen had a 6-under 274 total.

NATIONWIDE TOUR Rex Hospital Open Raleigh, N.C.

Schedule: Thursday-Sunday. Course: TPC Wakefield Plantation (7,257 yards, par 71). Purse: $525,000. Winner’s share: $94,500. Last year: Scott Gutschewski won his second career Nationwide Tour title, beating Chad Ginn and Esteban Toledo by two strokes. Last event: Australia’s Michael Sim won for the second time in his last threes tarts, edging Fabian Gomez with a par on the first hole of a playoff May 17 in the BMW Charity Pro-Am. A victory away from earning an in-season promotion to the PGA Tour, Sim also won the Stonebrae Classic last month.
