Lane restrictions

Lane restrictions

BOARDMAN — The scheduled lane restrictions this week on U.S. Route 224 from Applewood Boulevard to just west of South Avenue have been postponed until Monday.

Updates will follow before these restrictions occur.

The work is the beginning of a $5.2 million project to widen U.S. 224 with the addition of right-turn lanes from Boardman Park Drive to just west of South. The project also includes improvements to 15 traffic signals from Parkside Drive to Tiffany Boulevard. The entire project is scheduled to be complete by late October.

Traffic changes

AUSTINTOWN — Lane restrictions on two major township traffic routes will go into effect today.

From 5:30 to 10:30 a.m., Mahoning Avenue over state Route 11 will be reduced to one lane during specialized crane operations.

The construction is part of a $7 million project by the Ohio Department of Transportation to re-deck and paint bridges over state Route 11 at Mahoning Avenue as well as Western Reserve, Kirk and New roads.

The entire project is scheduled for completion by late August.

From 8 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Thursday, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Interstate 80, between the Ohio Turnpike and the Interstate 80/state Route 11 interchange, for pavement marking.

The $91.5 million ODOT project includes the reconstruction and replacement of the 2,500-foot twin bridges over the Meander Creek Reservoir and slated for completion by October.

LIBERTY — The Liberty Township trustees, Trumbull County commissioners and the Trumbull County engineer will have an informational meeting on the proposed countywide $15 license-plate fee. The session will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Liberty Township Administration Building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Habitat anniversary

STRUTHERS — Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County ReStore, 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, is having its one-year anniversary celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The festivities will include a DJ, music, free raffle drawings and food and drinks.
