Underage possession: Police arrested a 17-year-old Boardman male for underage possession of alcohol on North Broad Street. Police found 15 unopened Bud Light beer bottles in his car.

Pornographic text messaging: A Chapel Lane mother called police to report some “very disturbing” pornographic text messages on her 13-year-old son’s cell phone.

May 19

Unruly juvenile: Police arrested a 9-year-old boy for running away from a West Main Street home. His grandmother reported him missing along with his bicycle. He was charged with being an unruly juvenile.

Unlicensed motor vehicles: Neighbors reported to police that three cars without licenses were being stored in the driveway of a home in the 20 block of Kirk Street.

May 20

Public nuisance: Three complaints from neighbors came into the police department while a patrol car was being dispatched to a home in the 40 block of Edwards Avenue. A neighbor was mowing his grass at 10:08 p.m. and was charged with being a public nuisance.

Assault: A resident of the 300 block of Benton Avenue reported that his 6-year-old son, who was being watched by a baby sitter at home, scratched a car while playing outside. The boy’s uncle was called, who allegedly grabbed him by the arm, leaving bruises, and spanked him repeatedly until the boy wet his pants.

Breaking and entering: Entry was gained through the front window of a business at Gary’s Hair Scene, 4372 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A woman was arrested for theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A woman was arrested for theft, and a man was charged with complicity for a theft at Wal-Mart.

Recovered property: An Ohio license plate was found at Kerrybrook Drive and South Raccoon Road.

Assault: A 16-year-old male juvenile was assaulted by two high school students after he left Austintown Fitch High School at LeChateau Apartments, Nantucket Boulevard.

Menacing: Threats were made by a man at an apartment in the 60 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: Miscellaneous items were stolen from two unlocked vehicles at a home in the 100 block of South Yorkshire Boulevard.

Attempted theft: Damage was done to a CB bracket in an attempted theft from an auto at a home in the 1000 block of South Yorkshire Boulevard.

Criminal trespassing: A woman was arrested for trespassing at a home in the 200 block of South Yorkshire Boulevard.

Attempted breaking and entering: An door on an unattached garage was damaged at a home in the 3000 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: A wallet was recovered in the men’s restroom with credit cards missing at ITT, 1030 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: Three women were charged with theft at Rainbow, 6000 Mahoning Ave. One woman was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Theft: A Pioneer AM-FM and CD stereo and compact discs were stolen from an auto at a home in the 1000 block of South Beverly Avenue.

Assault: A woman who resides in the 100 block of Idlewood Road reported her son was attacked when he got off the school bus by another male student, who broke his arm at Idlewood Road and Oakwood Avenue.

Theft: Miscellaneous items were stolen from an auto at home in the 30 block of South Beverly Ave.

Auto theft: A 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen in the 100 block of South Main Street and recovered at Brandywine Apartments.

Fraud: A check was cashed using a false signature at Advanced Check Cashing, 3700 Mahoning Ave.

Menacing: Sexual threats were made by computer at a home in the 20 block of Johnathan Lane.

Telecommunications harassment: Hang-up telephone calls were reported at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Criminal damaging: A motion light was damaged at a home in the 1000 block of Howard Street.

Theft: A man took a fishing pole at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Two juveniles are accused of theft at Wal-Mart.

Assault: A man punched a clerk at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road and was also issued a summons for trespassing.
