“Wipeout” (8 p.m., ABC): It’s funny when people go “splat.” At least that’s the idea behind the human demolition derby known as “Wipeout.” New for Season 2: more obstacle course features, including something called “Plank in the Face.”

“The Goode Family” (9 p.m., ABC): Seems things often turn out bad for “The Goode Family.” The new animated series, from the creator of “King of the Hill,” follows an ultra-politically correct clan whose swell intentions often go awry. Their mantra: WWAGD — “What Would Al Gore Do?”
