Kerrs to be feted at family picnic on anniversary

POLAND — The 60th anniversary of their wedding will be celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. Peter L. Kerr, 2370 Bel-Aire Lane, during a family picnic on June 6 at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Robert and Cathy Protain, 3322 Lewis Seifert Road, Hubbard.

Also taking part in the festivity will be their other children, Candi Molina of New Middletown, Peter Kerr of Lexington, Patty Kerr of Poland and Martha Hughes of Boardman. Rounding out the family circle are eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The former Martha L. Neil and Mr. Kerr were united in marriage on June 4, 1949, in Youngstown.

Mrs. Kerr retired from her position as a preschool teacher at Boardman Christian Church and as a representative for Hoover Sweepers. She is member of Christ Church, the Ladies Oriental Shrine and senior bowling leagues.

Mr. Kerr served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He was employed as a driver and in sales at Servi-Clean Industries in Youngstown prior to retiring in 1990. He is a member of Christ Church, Al Koran, Al Koran Marshal Emeritus, Cleveland and Youngstown shrines, Allen Blue Lodge, and the former Hillman Blue Lodge.
