YOUNGSTOWN — The Jewish Community Center is inviting area golfers to participate in the 11th annual Suzi Solomon Golf Classic scholarship fundraiser on June 15 at the Avalon Golf and Country Club — Squaw Creek in Vienna.

The half-scramble and half two best-ball-event will begin with registration at 11:30 a.m. and a 1 p.m. shotgun tee time. The 6:15 cocktail hour will be followed by a dinner, raffles and an auction.

The cost for the day of golf and dinner will be $175 per person. Nongolfers may attend the dinner and participate in the raffles for $50. The deadline for registering is June 10.

For more information regarding registration, contact Gail Froomkin, (330) 746-3251, ext. 153, e-mail gfroomkin@jccyoungstown.org, or visit www.jccyoungstown.org to view the registration form.

The golf outing is a tribute to the memory of Suzi Solomon, an avid golfer, skier and active member of the Jewish Community. Proceeds from the event will remain in the community and help support the J’s programs, such as health and wellness memberships, senior events, summer camp for kids and child care.

Serving as the golf committee are Samuel Shapiro, Tom Shapiro, Bruce Tamarkin, Janine Silverman and Jeff Solomon. Tod Newman is event chairman, and Amy Fibus-Hendricks is president of the JCC board.
