Family dinner marks Laffeys’ 50th anniversary

BOARDMAN — Michael E. and Nancy A. Laffey Jr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 23 with a family dinner at the Springfield Grille.

Extending invitations were the hosts of the party, the couple’s children: Michael E. (Sharon) Laffey III of Sulphur Spring, Ind.; Larry Laffey of Columbiana; Patrick (Karen) Laffey of Boardman; Colleen (Larry ) Welton of Leetonia; Dan (Susie) Laffey of Galena; and Katie (Kevin) Dixon of Delaware, Ohio. The couple’s family includes nine grandchildren.

St. Patrick Church in Youngstown was the site of the May 23, 1959, wedding of Mr. Laffey and the former Nancy Metzinger.

Mrs. Laffey works as a nurse for Dr. T.T. Deramo. Mr. Laffey retired as a pipe fitter for Local 87 and in maintenance for Boardman Police Department. He retired in 2000. The couple are members of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.
