Allegretto is winner of Athena Scholarship

YOUNGSTOWN — Alyvia Allegretto, a senior at Cardinal Mooney High School, received the annual Athena Scholarship. The $1,500 award was presented Thursday at a banquet that also honored Patricia Brozik, president of the Community Foundation of Mahoning Valley, as this year’s Athena recipient.

Allegretto is a daughter of Michael and Tess Allegretto of Boardman. She is a member of the National Honor Society, captain of the cheerleading squad and a peer mediator and is involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and other community service activities.

Rep. Wilson, SBA offer small-business seminar

EAST LIVERPOOL — U.S. Rep Charlie Wilson of St. Clairsville, D-6th, is joining with the U.S. Small Business Administration to offer a free small-business seminar from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at East Liverpool Motor Lodge, 2340 Dresden Ave. The presentation will include how to qualify for and obtain loans, how to sell products to the government, how to develop a business plan and how to access capital using new tools from the SBA.
