Bartoletti’s 809 set mixed doubles high

BOARDMAN — Annie Bartoletti rolled 809 during the opening of the 46th Youngstown Mixed Doubles tournament at Boardman Lanes.

Bartoletti and teammate Frank Heffron lead the event with 1562.

Ron Ilich rolled a 300 game — an impetus toward a 1527 score for Ilich and his wife, Linda. The third place team was Jennifer Sivak and Dave Bregar with 1511. Brandy Eisenbraun and J. Eisenbraun stood fourth with 1474 and Marge Janosik-Ryan Lawrence held down fifth with 1430.

Entry fee for the tournament, which runs through May 24, is $24 per couple. Walk-ins are welcomed.

YOUNGSTOWN — Early registration for football players and cheerleaders for the Fighting Little Redmen team of the Northeast Ohio Youth Football League will be Saturday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the public library at Wick and Rayen avenues.

WEATHERSFIELD — Weathersfield school board approved supplemental contracts for the 2009-2010 school year for: Kelly Hontula, seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball coach, $3,169.44; Brian Durig, varsity boys basketball coach, $5,810.64; Adelbert Ruiter, varsity girls basketball coach, $5,810.64; Andrew Apisa, varsity bowling coach, $3,433.56; and Richard Brunton, assistant varsity cross country coach, $1,848.84.

MARIETTA — Mount Union College sophomore Annie Patton (Blackhawk HS) finished fifth in the nation and earned All-American honors for a second-straight year in the javelin at the NCAA Div. III championships.
