LEETONIA — Brian Rossadivita had two doubles to set a school record for doubles in a season (nine, breaking the previous mark of seven) and Dante Abbas pitched five shutout innings to lead Lowellville (16-9-1, 11-2-1 Inter Tri-County League Tier Two). Ryan Whinery and Drew Skelley each added three hits and two RBIs. Leetonia (10-10) had just one hit.

Tennis

CANTON — Poland High’s Ben Brocker and Warren JFK’s Michael Fredericka each won two matches in Wednesday’s Division III district tennis competition at Weis Park. Brocker defeated Manchester’s Andrew Pohelia (6-3, 6-1) and Changrin Falls’ Alex Hurtuk (7-6, 6-2). Fredericka defeated Marlington’s Alex Schaeffer (6-0, 6-0) and Hawken’s Danny Lubarsky (6-3, 6-1). Mooney’s Matt Higham lost to Beachwood’s Mark Goldberg (6-1, 6-0) and teammate Luka Spahija was ousted by Orange’s Sam Ubersax (6-1, 6-1).In doubles, two Poland teams split two matches. Alex Tadla-Stu Duchek defeated St. Thomas Aquinas’s Chad Lundgren-Stuart Lubic (5-7, 6-4, 6-4) but lost to CVCA’s Alex Aleman-Lou Konstan (6-1, 6-0). Poland’s Anthony Rosselli-Kenny Duncan defeated Avon’s Parker Rieman-Ajit Ramadugu (6-2, 6-0) before losing to Orange’s Zack Deutch-Chad Kinsley (7-6, 7-5).
