Call for help is unanswered
Call for help is unanswered
EDITOR:
I had back surgery in October. I returned home in a wheelchair. I was in therapy much of the past winter. One of my concerns was mail delivery. I have a roadside mailbox on a very busy and dangerous county road.
I was told that if I got my doctor to write a letter to the postmaster I might be allowed to put a box at my front door. My doctor wrote the letter and a friend took it to the Austintown post office on November 25.
Somehow the letter was lost. I delivered a copy on March 3. The person who took the copy along with my name and phone number promised a call soon. No call was received. Since then I have called Congressman Ryan’s office three times. I also called a few more agencies who purport to protect senior citizens. Did I mention that I am 78 years old?
I can barely walk. Hobbling would best describe my gait. Why would it take a postmaster six months and counting to answer a call or plea for help?
