Springfield Local students put on 'wonderful' show

Mother’s Day week I had the privilege of attending both performances of “The Wizard of Oz” at Springfield Local High School. High school and elementary school students put on a wonderful creative musical for the enjoyment of well attended audiences.

Mr. Cornfield, the director and drama coach for this presentation did a splendid job of coordinating the talents of the students with the characters they portrayed and giving these young folks an opportunity to display their talents for our community. Mr. Cornfield invited elementary students to take an active part in this musical, thus sparking the young children’s interest in drama.

All the young people did such a nice job in setting the tone for a beautiful weekend.

I truly believe that the positive attitude of the voters in Springfield Township was reflected in the positive attitude displayed in this Fine Arts presentation. FRAN HEINL
