Tim Ryan to be on TV later this afternoon
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles will be a guest on MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” which starts at 5 p.m. today to discuss his proposal to reduce abortions. The show is also replayed at 7 p.m. and midnight.
Ryan, D-17th, a member of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus, will discuss how the nation’s abortion rate can be reduced. Ryan plans to introduce legislation he says will reduce the number of abortions in this country. The so-called Reducing the Need for Abortions and Supporting Parents Act would create programs to prevent teen pregnancies, expand Medicaid eligibility for family planning services, combat sexual assault and expand adoption programs.
The failure to reduce the rates of unplanned pregnancies in America is because of the nation’s lack of pregnancy prevention education, lack of access to contraception and lack of resources for pregnant women, Ryan wrote in an e-mail sent to his supporters today.
