ODOT crews will try again to move Cleveland 1-90 bridge

CLEVELAND (AP) — Crews in Cleveland will try again on Saturday to move an Interstate 90 bridge by 5 inches to align joints.

To prepare for the work, the Ohio Department of Transportation says it will close the so-called Innerbelt Bridge just south of downtown from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights.

ODOT will close the bridge from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and will use jacks to lift and push the structure 4 or 5 inches to the west. Earlier plans for the bridge work were postponed.

Trucks and large buses recently were banned from the 50-year-old bridge, which carries 120,000 cars daily.
