Motskos’ 50th celebrated during pizza, wine party

POLAND — Family and friends honored Mr. and Mrs. Sam Motsko of Poland during a pizza and wine party they had planned in celebration of the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary. The event took place from 7 to 11 p.m. May 16 at Melody Lane Dance Hall in Newton Falls.

The former Nancy Louise Harklerode and Mr. Motsko were united in marriage May 16, 1959, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Youngstown. They are members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Their family includes Kathy and Barry Swoboda of Poland, Sam Jr. and Janet Motsko of Struthers, and John and Michelle Motsko of the Grand Cayman Islands. The couple have five grandchildren.

Mrs. Motsko was a pharmacy clerk with Wittenauer Pharmacy prior to retiring in 2000.

Mr. Motsko, the owner and operator of Motsko Photography and Video, retired in 1998 from General Electric in Youngstown, where he was a mechanic.
