Blaskos celebrate 50th anniversary by renewing vows

BOARDMAN — Bernie and Pat Blasko of Poland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in the presence of The Rev. Carl Kish, their family and friends on May 16 at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park.
Honoring their grandparents by being attendants were Jake Blasko, Mandi Blasko, Mariah Blasko and Eliza Blasko. The couple’s children are Ron and Traci Blasko of Columbiana, Ray and Wanda Blasko of Boardman and Rich and Paula Blasko of Canfield.
After the ceremony, a luncheon took place at the Beard Cabin in the park.
The former Pat Zelonish and Mr. Blasko were united in marriage May 16, 1959, at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Blasko served a tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Korea and was employed by Youngstown Modern Tile and Wean United and retired from the R. L. Best Co. in 1998.
Mrs. Blasko had been employed by Ohio Bell until 1960, when she left to become a full-time homemaker.
The couple traveled to St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands this month.
