Grand jury indicts 23 people

There were two secret indictments.

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted 23 people, including two men now serving time in the Ohio State Penitentiary on Coitsville-Hubbard Road.

Michael Jones, 24, of Lorain County was indicted on 15 felony counts, all involving harm to corrections officers at the prison. He is already serving a 14-year sentence for assault, intimidation and felonious assault.

According to the indictment, Jones potentially harmed nine officers by causing them to come into contact with some type of body fluid. The indictment says he also tried to intimidate two officers and threatened one with a knife.

Another Ohio State Penitentiary inmate, Cornelius Harris, 27, of Hamilton County was indicted on one felony charge. He is serving a 97-year prison term for vandalism, aggravated robbery, robbery, felonious assault and judicial sanctions.

According to the indictment, Harris attempted to cause the death of a corrections officer.

These people were also indicted:

UDavid Pope, 51, of Whipple Avenue, Campbell for trafficking in drugs, possession of cocaine and possession of heroin.

UMontrell Gilbert, 28, of Medford Street for illegally possessing a firearm, possession of cocaine, three counts of possession of drugs and receiving stolen property.

URichard Wilburn, 48, of Albert Street for possession of cocaine.

UTracy Delesky, 38, of Rosemarie Street, Lebanon, Ohio, for possession of cocaine and possession of drugs.

UGary Teague, 38, of Atkinson Avenue for two counts of felonious assault.

UJamelle Square, 34, of Falls Avenue for trafficking in marijuana.

URayshawn Gilmore, 19, of McBride Street for possession of cocaine.

UAnthony Underwood, 49, of Dryden Avenue for carrying a concealed weapon.

UDavid Jackson, 23, of Woodcrest Street for failure to comply with the order of a police officer.

UMargo Smith, 26, of Brockway Avenue for Burglary and theft.

UMark Coler, 24, of Southern Boulevard, Boardman for receiving stolen property.

UTishana Wright, 38, of Florida Avenue for receiving stolen property.

UBrian Cunningham, 24, of Cordova Avenue for carrying a concealed weapon, illegally possessing a weapon and possession of cocaine.

UArtis Gilliam III, 25, of E. Judson Avenue for carrying a concealed weapon and illegal possession of a weapon.

UChrista Burnette, 22, of Sprucevale Road, Rogers for possession of heroin.

UColeman Cooper, 27, of Early Road for possession of cocaine.

UAmber Kenst, 19, of 19th Street, Sebring for theft.

UJean Carlos Martinez, 25, South Jackson Street for felonious assault with a firearm specification.

UTyler Hill, 21, Choice Court for carrying a concealed weapon and illegal possession of a weapon.

There were also two secret indictments for trafficking in drugs.
