Sports complex meeting is Sunday

NORTH LIMA — The South Range Athletic Boosters will have an information session Sunday on a proposed future sports complex for the school district.

The session will be held at 6 p.m. in the high school multi-purpose room.

Superintendent Dennis Dunham said there is space available adjacent to the new K-12 academic complex being built on the old Green Beaver fields for some locker rooms and athletic practice facilities.

There may also be money available in the school construction fund to help finance them, he said.

The baseball and softball fields lost because of the new school construction are already being replaced.

NFL salary cap up $12 million over 2008

NEW YORK — The NFL’s 2009 salary cap will be nearly $12 million more than last season after a final adjustment brought the total to $128 million.

The salary cap is technically $123 million for 2009, an increase of about $7 million from last season, as set out in the collective bargaining agreement.

About $4 million in cap room was added when a “cash-adjustment mechanism” was triggered after spending on players fell below 59.5 percent of the league’s total revenue in 2008, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told The Associated Press on Friday.
