Streetscape cleanup

YOUNGSTOWN — Streetscape’s annual downtown cleanup will be 8 a.m. to noon May 30. Volunteers will beautify downtown by removing garbage, trimming trees and bushes, planting flowers and shrubs, and mulching planted areas during the 12th annual event.

Focus areas include the West Federal Street medians, the John Young Memorial, the Front Street and South Avenue corner, city hall and Wick Park. If there is inclement weather, the event will be moved to May 31.

About 350 to 400 volunteers are expected. Volunteers receive a T-shirt, a light breakfast and a full lunch. The registration tent will be on the city’s Central Square.
