Pa. woman gets prison term for 11th DUI
GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania woman will spend 2 1/2 to 5 years in prison for her 10th and 11th drunken driving offenses since 1993, but a prosecutor and Mothers Against Drunk Driving say the sentence is too lenient.
John Peck, the Westmoreland County district attorney, and MADD wanted 41-year-old Jessica Snyder to be sentenced Wednesday to seven to 14 years.
Court records show Snyder has spent seven of the last 10 years incarcerated for drunken driving-related offenses.
While still on parole she was arrested in June and again in August, both times with a blood-alcohol content nearly three times the state’s legal limit.
Snyder’s license is suspended until 2030. Her attorney says she’s now serious about alcohol rehabilitation.
