Chrysler wants to close Frederick, Preston car dealerships

Two area Chrysler dealers are on the list of 789 dealerships that the automaker wants to close.

Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Boardman and Preston Chrysler Plymouth Jeep in Warren are among those to be closed. Chrysler filed a motion with bankruptcy court today that listed the dealerships.

Preston also has a BMW franchise at the Warren location and operates other dealerships in the region.

Dealers will be able to appeal the decision, which must be approved by the bankruptcy court.
