ACE president at YSU has June 22 trial date

YOUNGSTOWN — The president of the Association of Classified Employees union at Youngstown State University has a June 22 trial date in municipal court.

Judge Robert A. Douglas Jr. set the start of trial on a misdemeanor menacing charge for 11 a.m. that day.

Maldonado has been on paid administrative leave since March 13 after another ACE union member filed a complaint with university police claiming that she felt threatened by a March 10 telephone call she received form Maldonado.

The city prosecutor filed one count of menacing against him.

Maldonado has pleaded innocent to the charge and remains free on his own recognizance pending trial.
