Sprint distance triathlon set Sunday at Boardman YMCA

BOARDMAN — The D.D. & Velma Davis Family YMCA in Boardman, with the support of the Steel Valley Triathlon Club, will host a sprint distance-triathlon beginning at 7:30 a.m. Sunday

Participants will complete a 500-yard swim in the YMCA pools, a 14.5-mile scenic bike course and a 5K run through neighborhood streets. All events begin at the YMCA on McClurg Road.

Participants must register with the Davis Family YMCA. A $45 entry fee is required. There is no day-of-race registration.

Proceeds benefit people who would otherwise be unable to afford YMCA membership and programs. Race applications are available online to download at www.youngstownymca.org
