Miss Ferreira, Mr. Kalavsky to be married

The engagement of Melissa Ferreira and Christopher Kalavsky, both of 1500 Carey Lane, Silver Spring, Md., and plans for their upcoming marriage are announced by their parents.

The bride-elect, a daughter of Corine Ferreira of Pretoria, South Africa, graduated from Towson University in Maryland with a degree in elementary and special education. She is a special education teacher with Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Severn, Md.

Parents of the future groom are Steven and Carol Kalavsky, 5510 Tracy Drive, Youngstown. He earned a degree in international studies from Bowling Green State University and is an account manager with Public Broadcasting Service in Arlington, Va.

The couple will exchange nuptial vows during a 5:30 p.m. ceremony July 3 at the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West, Fla., where their reception will follow. Invitations will be extended for both.
