Buhl Park Wetlands
Students at Notre Dame School in Hermitage, Pa. worked to improve wetlands at Buhl Park through a grant from the Captain Planet Foundation.
HERMITAGE, Pa. — Students at Notre Dame School here participated in an environmental project in Buhl Park.
Seventh- and eighth-graders at the school removed invasive species of plants from the wetlands of the park and replaced them with native species. It was the final phase the school’s Discovering and Improving Buhl Park’s Wetland project. The classes have spent several months focusing on the wetlands. The program was sponsored by Captain Planet Foundation.
The park received a $2,000 grant for the project.
