Budding authors at Alpha School

Alpha School of Excellence seventh-graders Leela Pulliam, left, and Jaelyn Morrison participate in a presentation at their school Tuesday by writer Jaime Adoff, above, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, as the culmination of Right to Read activities at the school. Adoff, son of the late Virginia Hamilton, a Newberry award-wining author, and Arnold Adoff, a renowned poet, spent the day interacting with small groups of students at the school. The students read his novel “Names Will Never Hurt Me” in preparation for the visit.
