A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
May 6
Criminal mischief: A vehicle was damaged, and items were tossed into an above-ground swimming pool in the 2400 block of Bel Aire Lane.
May 7
Burglary: A toolbox was missing from a garage in the 7700 block of Forest Hill Drive.
BOARDMAN
May 7
Burglary: Someone broke into a Shields Road apartment via the front door, then stole a surround-sound system, four pairs of shoes, a purse and articles of clothing.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A township boy, 13, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle before being released to the custody of his grandmother. He was accused of having driven her car and crashing it in Youngstown.
Theft: Two Youngstown girls, 15 and 16, were charged in the theft of 16 pieces of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. The loss came to $94.76.
Burglary: Taken were a 52-inch flat-screen TV, a laptop computer and assorted jewelry from a Shields Road apartment.
Arrest: Authorities picked up a 20-year-old Petersburg woman on Doral Drive who was wanted on a charge of identity theft.
Burglary: Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 30 block of Shields Road and took into custody a Youngstown woman, 25, on charges of aggravated burglary and assault. The woman kicked in the door, then entered and attacked a resident, a report said.
Weapon: A traffic stop near Southern Boulevard resulted in felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon and being a convicted felon with a firearm against an 18-year-old Youngstown man. The teen, who also was wanted on a felony warrant from the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center in Youngstown, had a loaded .45-cal. handgun in the car.
Misuse of a credit card: A woman’s lost or stolen debit card was used at various township locations, with $777 worth of unauthorized purchases made.
Fraud: A Ewing Road man told police of receiving the latest in a series of calls from someone trying to defraud him under the pretense of collecting a debt.
Identity theft: A township man reported having gotten a letter stating he owed $2,309 on a credit-card account he never opened.
Misuse of a credit card: A Minerva company’s card was used without consent to make $1,562 worth of charges at a Doral Drive store.
Counterfeit: A fake $10 bill was passed at Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.
Assault: A woman told police an intoxicated man in his 30s grabbed the back of her neck at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery, then forced his tongue into her mouth.
Theft by deception: A Youngstown man, 21, was charged when, police said, he used a receipt to steal an $898 laptop computer from Wal-Mart. He had bought one computer for that amount, returned to the store and tried to use the same receipt for a second one, a report said.
Identity theft: A township woman accused her mother-in-law of assuming her identity to ruin the accuser’s accounting business.

Attempted theft: A man in his 30s used a razor knife to cut open four cell-phone packages at a Doral Drive business.
Theft: An employee of a Boardman-Poland Road store had a wallet stolen.
Robbery: An 18-year-old Campbell man was charged with stealing a pack of condoms from Wal-Mart and fighting with two employees who tried to detain him.
Theft: Thirty prescription medications were removed from a Sierra Madre Drive home.
Arrest: Officers responded to a woman who refused to leave an East Western Reserve Road business before taking the Youngstown woman, 34, into custody on a warrant. She was accused of failing to appear in court as a material witness in a case.
Theft: A 21-year-old North Lima man was charged and arrested on a probation-violation charge after a pliers set was stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Bad check: A township man, 23, was charged with passing a bad check at a South Avenue restaurant.
May 9
Criminal damaging: The driver of a tractor-trailer truck left after the top of the vehicle had scraped and damaged spouting at an East Western Reserve Road fast-food restaurant.
Theft: A $2,500 diagnostic computer was removed from the trunk of a car in the 4800 block of Southern Boulevard.
Assault: A man at a Doral Drive business reported having been slapped in the head and face.
Counterfeit: Such a $10 bill was presented at Sam’s Club.
Criminal damaging: Someone applied a gob of blue lotion to a vehicle’s passenger side in the 70 block of Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A stereo and two each of amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers were stolen from a car in the 7800 block of Market Street.
Domestic violence: Springfield Township police handed a New Middletown woman, 27, to Boardman authorities. A situation had taken place between the woman at her boyfriend, of Wolosyn Circle, a report said.
Theft: Three Youngstown girls, two age 16 and one age 17, were charged in the theft of roughly $738 worth of items from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall. One of the teens also faced charges of forgery and obstructing official business.
Theft: Four jewelry items valued at a total of $140 were stolen from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road. Charged was a 39-year-old Struthers woman.
May 10
Criminal damaging: Eggs were tossed at the front of an East Parkside Drive home.
Counterfeit: Phony $100 bills were passed at two Boardman movie theaters.
