Teens accused of assault on Canfield boy have hearing Wednesday
CANFIELD — The group of teens from Cardinal Mooney High School accused of assault on a Canfield teenager in February are in Mahoning County Court here for a pre-trial hearing at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Police have accused Kyle White, 18, of Boardman, with punching Michael Malvasi Jr., 18, of Canfield in the head during a fight in the early morning hours of Feb. 22 at the Malvasi’s Timber Run Drive home.
Malvasi Jr. will also appear on an assault charge for an incident that occurred around earlier that morning, when Malvasi reportedly punched Dominic Jackett on Fox Haven Drive in the township.
White, along with Jackett, 18, of Youngstown; Dan McGlone, 18, of Boardman; Matthew McWilson, 18, of Youngstown; Peter Bernat, 19, of Youngstown; Nicholaos Frangopoulos, 18, of Poland; Owen Timlin, 18, of Youngstown; Michael Thomas, 18, of Boardman; and Adam Wheeler, 18, of Poland; and Scott Johnson, 18, of North Jackson; are also set to appear on a charge of aggravated trespass.
Additionally, four of the men — McWilson, White, Johnson and Frangopoulos — are charged with assault.
