DIVISION IV TOURNAMENT

Columbiana 3, East Canton 2

COLUMBIANA — Corinne Brothers scored from first on an error in the bottom of the 13th inning to lift Columbiana in a sectional semifinal. Steeb also had a two-run double in the fourth for Columbiana (7-11), which plays at Western Reserve today. Haley Goist and Alexis Wyatt each added two hits, while Brothers struck out 11 and walked five for the win. Letitia Bittinger got the loss, striking out 24 and walking two. She also had a double.

Sebring 4, Southern 1

SEBRING — Jillian Faudree rapped a solo home run and triple with RBIs in all while Taylor Ward pitched a four-hitter to lead Sebring. in a sectional semifinal. Sebring (11-9) will play St. Thomas Aquinas today in a sectional final.

Western Reserve 12, Leetonia 2

BERLIN CENTER — Elizabeth Srock had three hits as Western Reserve defeated Leetonia. Two of Srock’s hits were doubles. Heather Monoski added two hits, including a solo home run, for Western Reserve (14-4), while Sissy Stubbs had a double and three RBIs. Chelsea Korda and Kristen O’Connell also hit doubles. Srock and Ashlee Grim combined on a four-hitter for the Blue Devils, who play host to Columbiana today in a sectional final.

Lowellville 4, McDonald 0

LOWELLVILLE — Shawna McDowell had a double, single and two RBIs while Cori Pavlicko had three singles and one RBI and Brooke Pallozzi two singles for Lowellville (12-6). For McDonald (6-8), Rachel Jones had two doubles and Kaitlyn Rutushin a double and single.

Jackson-Milton 10, Yo. Christian 0

NORTH JACKSON — Lindsey Knipp pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead Jackson-Milton (15-5), which advanced to play at Warren JFK today.

Ursuline 2, Minerva 1

YOUNGSTOWN — Down 1-0, Kelli Kolenich hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth and Casey Lower (17-5) pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and two walks to lift Ursuline (18-5). With one out in the sixth, Kasey Foley singled, Lower reached on an error and Malikka Caige walked to load the bases. Kolenich’s single scored Foley and Chelsea Kernan, who was running for Lower. Kolenich finished with two hits, while Sarah Ingalls and Miranda Carkido each doubled.

Champion 7, Mooney 0

CHAMPION — Katie Saluga hit her eighth homer of the year and also had a double and two RBIs to lead Champion (16-5), which scored five runs in the third inning to take control. Morgan White (10-0) tossed a four-hitter with five strikeouts and a walk. Jamie Clausen had three walks and a strikeout for Mooney (14-7).

Howland 3, Struthers 2

STRUTHERS — Jena Debiec had two hits, including a homer, with two RBIs to lead Howland (15-7), while Gina Albani and Sam Jaques each added two hits for the Tigers. For Struthers (12-11), Wyntre Wasilewski homered and drove in two runs.

Lakeview 2, Liberty 0

CORTLAND — Mackenzie Palette went 2-for-3 with a double to lead Lakeview (10-7, 6-2 All-American Conference White). Abbey Bensing tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and a walk to get the win. Ali House struck out six and walked one for Liberty.

Canfield 8, Niles 2

NILES — Sarah Vrabel hit a two-run double, while Melanie West and Gina Mancini had run-scoring doubles to lead Canfield (13-12, 6-1 AAC Red). Carlee Hart and Brina Sturgeon combined on a two-hitter, striking out 10.

South Range 5, Hubbard 0

NORTH LIMA — Madison Yanek pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts while Kristin Robinson had a double and two RBIs to pace South Range (16-5). Yanek (13-4) bested Brianna Kelly, who pitched a six-hitter with nine strikeouts for Hubbard (10-9).
