DIVISION II TOURNAMENT

Liberty 7, Salem 3

SALEM — Jared Wiesen went 3-for-4 and scored twice to lead Liberty (5-12) in a sectional semifinal. Wiesen and Nate Fader hit doubles to support the complete-game pitching effort of Joe Tamarkin, who allowed five hits. Randy Wyand doubled for Salem (4-16).

Southeast 8, Minerva 6

RAVENNA — Nathan Boston’s three-run homer highlighted Southeast’s six-run rally in the bottom of seventh. Boston drove in Anthony Ciani and Nick Hopkins. Anthony Pennington added a double, single and two RBIs to also lead Southeast (6-14), while Eric Fleming and Matt Crislip had two singles each. Zach Bowman had a homer and single and Troy Summers a homer for Minerva (4-15).

Niles 15, Ravenna 3

NILES — Jon Taylor pitched a four-hitter while Evan Bollinger had a double and three RBIs and Nick Harper a triple, three singles and two RBIs to lead Niles. Mike Livi added a double, single and two RBIs, Patrick Barrett two singles and two RBIs and Joe Livi a single and two RBIs to aid Niles.

REGULAR SEASON

Mooney 7, Aurora 2

AURORA — Owen Timlin had three hits and two RBIs for Mooney, while Brad Byers, Drew Fitzpatrick and Mike Piesto each added two hits. For Aurora, Sam Sanford had two hits and two RBIs.

Springfield 8, Ursuline 5

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Todd Kibby had a triple, double and three RBIs and Bryan Visingardi a single and three RBIs to lead Springfield (22-4). Shawn Roman had three hits and four RBIs for Ursuline (9-7) while Wade Daniels two hits. Travis Richey got the win on a 10-hitter.

Chaney 11, Jackson-Milton 3

YOUNGSTOWN — Dan Fanzo had three hits and five RBIs, while Matt Franklin, Francisco Morales and Kevin Boris had two each for Chaney (5-15). George Chepke and Jim Nagy singled for the Bluejays.

Fitch 5, Lake 3

AUSTINTOWN — Tyler Vitullo hit a pinch-hit RBI double in the bottom of the fifth to get the Falcons (11-8, 6-5) started and Jordan Endsley doubled and scored twice in a Federal League game. Joe Smith homered for Lake (9-9, 4-7).

Poland 13, Beaver Local 10

POLAND — Matt Pitzulo hit two homers, including a walk-off grand slam in the seventh, to lift Poland (12-6, 4-1 All-American Conference Red). Pitzulo had four hits and eight RBIs, Drew Petro had three hits and two RBIs and Nick Elliott added a homer. For Beaver Local, Taylor Stewart had two hits and two RBIs, Bo Ibbs had two hits and two RBIs and Dustin Sprouse had two hits and an RBI.

Struthers 6, Warren JFK 5

STRUTHERS — Dom Lariccia hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh to score Steve Wilaj. Tyler Serich added three hits and Rich Mularchik had two hits and two RBIs for Struthers. Brendan Cox had three hits and scored a run for JFK.

Mathews 7, Girard 3

VIENNA — Jake Swank tossed a four-hitter over six innings and Corey Lumley and Jared Smith each had a homer and two RBIs for Mathews (16-1). Rick Sommers added two hits and one RBI. Aaron Jennings doubled for Girard (11-5).

South Range 9, Mineral Ridge 7

NORTH LIMA — John Deamicis struck out seven over six-plus innings to get the win, while Vince Miller and Chris Gause each had two hits for South Range (11-10, 7-5 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). Anthony Pannunzio doubled and drove in three for Mineral Ridge.

Columbiana 7, East Palestine 4

COLUMBIANA — Jeff Davidson pitched 41‚Ñ3 innings of one-hit ball in relief of Rob Barbato to gain the win for Columbiana, which got two singles and two RBIs from Josh Saverko. Matt Douglas had a double and single and Josh Harold two singles to aid the Clippers (18-4, 12-1 ITCL).

McDonald 13, Southern 5

SALINEVILLE — Anthony Raschilla had three hits, while David John, Bill Lowry, Zach Puntel each had two for McDonald (13-2, 12-1 ITCL Tier Two), which clinched a share of the league title. The Blue Devils can win it outright on Monday against Western Reserve.

Lowellville 4, Leetonia 3

LOWELLVILLE — Anthony Schiraldi hit a game-winning single to score Anthony Alfano from second in the bottom of the eighth inning for Lowellville (14-8-1, 10-2 ITCL Tier Two). Drew Skelley added a homer for the Rockets.
