CANFIELD

May 2

Underage tobacco: Police charged a 15-year-old Hillside Drive teen boy with underage possession of tobacco as a passenger in a car stopped at Montridge Avenue and Neff Drive.

Drug abuse: Police arrested a 37-year-old Kannapolis, N.C., man at East Main Street on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after they found a small bag containing 8 grams of suspected marijuana, a suspected marijuana cigarette, a pipe with suspected marijuana residue, rolling papers and other suspected drug paraphernalia.

May 3

Drug abuse: Police arrested an 18-year-old Canfield female on charges of drug abuse at East Main Street and Fairground Boulevard after finding in her possession a suspected marijuana cigarette in a pack of cigarettes.

Forged checks: Nemenz IGA, 8 N. Broad St., reported receiving two checks, one for $83.91 and another for $39.40, that were drawn on forged or fake accounts.

May 6

Criminal trespass: Police charged a 33-year-old Edwards Street man with trespassing on his neighbor’s property, also on Edwards Street.

May 7

Theft: A man staying at a room at the El Patio Motel, 495 W. Main St., said a 24-year-old Canfield woman arrested by police had stolen the money in his wallet after she visited him for five minutes in his room to talk.

Theft: A trailer and car were reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of Fairground Boulevard.

AUSTINTOWN

May 4

Criminal damaging: A 14-by-44-inch window was broken at a home in the 4000 block of Evelyn Road.

Theft: Decals were removed from a vehicle at Bob and Chuck Eddy’s Dodge, 4850 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: A man cashed checks totaling $6,887.39 that were returned for insufficient funds at Purpose Money, 1698 S. Raccoon Road.

Robbery: A man was arrested for stealing $688 from Vivo Metal Trading, 340 N. Meridian Road.

Breaking and entering: Police arrested a 15-year-old boy who broke into the old Austintown Middle School, 5800 Mahoning Ave., and stole an Apple computer tower from the building. He was found under the stadium behind the building and released to his mother. He entered the building by removing screws from a rear door.

Breaking and entering: An unattached garage was broken into in the 1000 block of North Turner Road and a small motorcycle, a toolbox and a welder were taken.

Drug offense: Police arrested a Youngstown man for possession of marijuana in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Menacing: A 17-year-old Canfield woman said a former friend threatened her at a bonfire in the 6000 block of Meander Glen Drive. She also reported that a three-foot scratch had been made to the tailgate of her vehicle.

May 5

Criminal damaging: A man reported two yard lights and a Cleveland Indians sign had been damaged at his home in the 3000 block of Claridge Drive.

Theft: A woman was arrested for theft of $408 in miscellaneous jewelry at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: An unattached garage was entered and stolen were an air compressor and lawn mower in the 5000 block of Kirk Road.

Breaking and entering: A garage was broken into in the 2000 block of South Meridian Road and miscellaneous items were stolen.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported on a credit card for the renter of at an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made to a victim over a parking space at an apartment in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

May 6

Theft: A BMX bicycle was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Idlewood Road.

Theft: A female employee stole $4,330 at the Little Lotto Shack, 4447 Mahoning Ave.

Vandalism: A door lock was glued at Charly’s Family Restaurant, 4455 Kirk Road.

Theft: A GPS device and money were stolen from an auto parked at a home the 1000 block of Woodledge Drive.

Assault: A female student assaulted a teacher at Frank Ohl School, 255 Idaho Road.

Recovered property: A township “No Parking” sign was found in a garage at home in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue.

Fraud: A resident of a home in the 2000 block of Spring Meadow Circle reported to police that her Visa/debit card has been charged $800 to $1,000 in Staten Island, N.J.

Theft: Razor blades were stolen by a man and woman at Walgreens, 5501 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: Six unauthorized transactions were made on a bank account in Florida totaling $271.21 at a home in the 3000 block of Starwick Drive.

Abandoned vehicle: A 1999 Chevrolet Malibu was found abandoned in the 4000 block of New Road.

May 7

Recovered property: A mountain bike was recovered from the front yard of a home in the 1000 block of Signature Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vinyl fence was spray-painted at a home in the 6000 block of Purdue Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Property was spray-painted at a home in the 5000 block of Tulane Avenue.

Aggravated menacing: A man reported he paid cash for a car a month ago and the seller has been calling him threatening to come and get the car and to kill him, at a home in the 600 block of Duke Circle.

Theft: A woman is accused of stealing shoes at Dots, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Abandoned vehicle: A 1984 Chevrolet El Camino was found abandoned with no license plates in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Burglary: A 20-inch, flat-screen television was stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.

Recovered property: A cell phone was recovered at Adgates, 4195 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: $39 in fuel was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Vandalism: An egg was thrown at a vehicle in the 2000 block of South Meridian Road.

May 8

Drug offense: Police charged a Deerfield man and woman with possession of dangerous drugs in the 200 block of Canfield-Niles Road.

Recovered property: An ID case and its contents were found on Navarre Avenue at Mahoning Avenue.

Assault: A 13-year-old girl assaulted another 13-year-old girl at Immaculate Heart of Mary School, 4470 Norquest Blvd.

Felonious assault: A man told police someone cut him with a knife at Cosmo’s, 1722 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: An Ohio license, Social Security card and credit card were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Woodledge Drive.

Theft: Two suspects fled in shoes taken from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A woman’s purse was taken at Wal-Mart.

May 9

Criminal mischief: Eggs were thrown at a vehicle in the 2000 block of Birch Trace Drive.

Burglary: A window was broken and undetermined amount of cash was missing from a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Burglary: An apartment was broken into in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments, but nothing was reported taken.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Wal-Mart.

May 10

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to a Youngstown woman for possession of marijuana in the 3000 block of Oakwood Avenue.

Theft: A change purse was stolen at bingo at The Regency, 3704 Mahoning Ave.

Weapons offense/drug abuse: Police charged a Youngstown man with carrying a concealed weapon and drug abuse of Vicodin at Oakwood Avenue and Lexington Place.

Trespassing: Police arrested a man for trespassing at a home in the 60 block of Westminster Avenue.

Theft: An unauthorized charge was made on the victim’s debit card. The victim lives in an apartment in the 30 block of South Main Street.

Recovered property: A 1985 S-10 Chevrolet pickup truck was recovered in a wooded area in the 1000 block of Oden Avenue. Niles police reported the vehicle as having been stolen.
