Garden Forum announces winners of spring show

YOUNGSTOWN — The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area sponsored a spring flower show April 18 at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek MetroParks.

The theme for the standard flower show was “Refresh and Renew.” Entries were judged by Anne Ellis, Judy Smith and Dorthy Haddox.

Blue ribbons in horticulture were awarded the following:

UNature Lovers — Dianna Mullins, Sheila Bowman, Ellis, Rosie Fuller and Martha Murphy.

UAustintown — Mary Schall, Rae Jones and Elsie DeHoff.

UGleaners — Rose Marie Roth, Millie Campean and Joyce Dunbar.

UMen’s — Rex Luckage.

UMVDS — Stan Vuletich.

UIkebana — Linda Vuletich.

UDaphne — Kay Zimmerman.

UIHM — Charlene Flesch.

UPublic — Roxanne Macynski.

UJohnny Appleseed — Peggy Potts.

UOur Lady of Fatima — Haddox.

ULeaf and Bloom — Sandy Raines.

USt. Michael — Carol Cartwright.

Capturing blue ribbons in design were:

UNature Lovers — Ellis and Dolly Vivalo.

UGleaners — Joyce Dunbar.

UAustintown — DeHoff.

Special horticulture awards went to Marta Murphy and Sandra Raines, and a special award in design was awarded to Dunbar.
