HUBBARD — There will be a flag-retirement ceremony at 9 p.m. Friday at the Harding Park bandstand.

This event is open to the public. Those attending should bring lawn chairs.

Cub Scout Pack 100 of Hubbard is accepting non- serviceable flags to be honored in the ceremony. The flags can be dropped off in the collection can at the Hubbard Public Library, 436 W. Liberty St.

Family Movie Night

BOARDMAN — Boardman Township Park will present Family Movie Night in the park Saturday.

Music by Teez will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the 9 p.m. showing of “High School Musical 3.”

There will be hayrides, Jocko the Clown and Bounce-A-Round bouncer.

The event is free, but attendees are advised to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

Plant the Bridges Day

POLAND — Town One Streetscapes of Poland is seeking community volunteers to participate in Plant the Bridges Day on May 23. Volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. in the Poland library parking lot.

Volunteers are needed to plant 18 flowers on the Route 224 bridge and 10 boxes on the Route 170 bridge. Flowers and soil will be provided, but volunteers should bring trowels and watering cans.

Streetscapes also needs volunteers to water the boxes for a week or longer during the growing season.
